mixing needs a little work.. okay a lot.

not really my cup of tea (or shit if you're 2 girls) but they're decent for what they are.

I wanna hear what you can do without a sample.

i agree about the mixing, seems like you def have an ear for good samples and understand drums and all that. just need to clean it up. if you dont want to get way into mixing, sounds like a lot of these could use just having the kicks and claps/snares turned up.

    Understatement:

if you don't want to get way into mixing, sounds like a lot of these could use just having the kicks and claps/snares turned up.

The thing is that my kicks just don't sound right when i turn them up. I never turn things up past 0db if i want to boost past 0db i just dub the channel on top of its self. But it seems like my kicks always turn into this weird muttled version of them self, that just doesn't use the speakers correctly. Now this could be because of the kicks i use, or possibly the way I do limiting compression and so on. Or it could possibly just be a weird thing in my head. I find that alot of the time as a producer, your own ears and mind will get the best of you. Especially after hours. If you don't take breaks your ears will just start lying to you.

Another thing i have going on is way to much noise in the spectrum. I have all this Low and High end feedback, thats really hard to cut out with out losing quality and key of the sample. So much so that when i render my wavs and look at the spectragraph Its almost a SOLID block of waves. No ups and downs like it should be. Way to much information in the mix. But i don't know how to get rid of it. I found that when i use Sample pack sounds i don't really have this problem as much. But sample pack sounds suck unless anyone knows of some packs that jam.

I think im gonna try making the kicks and snares louder in the mix, not by simply turning them up buy by just giving them more room in the mix to do their thing. Mixing is more of a talent in my mind then a skill, and its not a talent i really posses. Plus i believe years of blasting head phones into my ears may have damaged them slightly and mabey limited the range in which i can hear.

haha mabey if you keep listening you'll hear shaft one of these days haha.

What did you mean by i didn't expect this sort of music from you though? Do you mean you thought i would be doing a different style?

I do have some tracks that are not up on my page that are not sample based, 100% royalty free. Which is niiice. But i love samples from the 70s so much. U know how it is. But yeh I'm gonna work on some more stuff thats not samples.

I'm loven all the feedback guys. Keep it coming. I'm looking forward to someone coming and just ripping my shit apart and telling me how bad it really sucks. Call me crazy but i think thats the best kind of advice u can get. As long as the person means it and isn't just saying it to be a dick. anyways peace guys. I'm sick as a dog, and im gonna go take a nap see if i cant feel normal again.

Yeah I guess I'm just really used to hearing different/ more mainstream styles and it was actually refreshing to hear something not expected :)

My production roots stem from Electronic styles such as Trip hop and Downtempo acid jazz stuff.

thank you for the compliment though. I appriciate it much!
