i haven't checked todd's myspace in a while but the beats he had on there were fucking tight. i remember finding the vocals that were over them to be uninspired. i think he might've even been the rapper. seriously, though, his production should take him somewhere. the music is supremely easy to understand and rock over. there's nothing groundbreaking but they serve their purpose. sykes has that marco polo thing going on and i think he would benefit from having people with heavy, clear voices fuck with his beats. chev and geologic come to mind

right on dawson. i didn't understand your earlier post. thanks for clearing that up. his beats are nuts. i am privileged to be working on this album with him.

i think you will enjoy it man. for real. its by far my best and favorite project that i have ever been a part of.

Since this post turned into what people are working on instead of what is actually about to drop. I will do the same. My next project will be a full album with Rajni from Alpha P. It will be a true Tacoma/Seattle collaboration. YEAH!!!

i don't like most of the music that i've heard from jay but i'm happy that somebody who reps tacoma so heavy is getting recognized as worthy of time on stage with the best rapper ever from the time zone

  13.

i'm speaking for myself and quite a few others im sure. but, i would rather prefer the more traditional boom bap style hip hop opposed to that nasty new street ish that a lot of people are putting out. im not doggin' anybody, but that just aint me. thats not what i perceive hip hop to be, and again, thats just me. honest music with real hip hop beats, none of that keyboard shit ya know. if someone is gonna sell a bunch of records from the town and do hella shows im down to support that regardless what i think is dope. i will come to your show and more than likely i will spend 10 dollars on your cd all the while knowing and believing that just isnt me, but i will support the cause because were from the same town. i love anybody and everybody doing anything in this town as long as its positive and doing something in a positive step for the tac.

I guess I was upset how the small handful of people on here gravitate towards ONE thing but thats what happens when u got a group of friends stating there opinions

i'm not feeling it. nationalism is cool with me as long as it's a positive outlet, but i like good music. even though i do often factor locality in subconsciously 'cause i'm a human, i would appreciate artists approaching their music with the attitude that NOBODY will buy it for the sake of support. i'm into scene building, but not for its own sake.

i still don't understand anything you have said in this thread. everyone on this site doesn't run together in the same circle.

i dont think anyone can really say anything negative about jay barz. The music he makes and puts out is always solid. It may not be the style of hip hop that some of us listen to 24 7 on our rotation but it is deffenetly quality.
