    im really pissed about this.
but im not gonna go on a long rant...
just wanna know what ur guys thoughts are...

  1.

saddest day in all of seattle sports history. easily.
    fuck howard schultz.
fuck all the city officials, nickels and the council.
fuck gregoire. you like her comment in the paper today? "NOW is the time to act!" (to the legislature.) Now?! NOW!?!?! not a year ago or two years ago, but NOW!!!! WHAT THE FUCK.
so fuck the state legislature with their thumbs up their collective asses.
and last, but certainly not least, FUCK David Stern. Now all the sudden the Key Arena improvements would be a viable option for a NEW NBA franchise whereas a few months ago Stern said there was no way an NBA team could play in that facility with a remodel or not?!?!?! ?!?!??!!

    !!!!

    ????

you did my ranting for me
    fucking damnit im pissed

  2.

man, i think we had two first round picks next year too. and theier pick this year is a solid point guard who might not put up all the points but he can hang with the best. he won't get shit on by players like steve nash or tony parker. whereas when luke ridnour would go in, he would get shat on constantly. the team is on the right path and within two years i garuntee this state and is going to regret this decision.

    smell what im steppin in
  3.

    it's another day for me.
    the sonics? who?

what got me is on espn they were talking this morning
and someone said something like "seattle is a football town anyway"
and i really dont think that was true.
the sonics have always been there "and fairly consistently"
22 playoff appearances in 41 years
people have always watched the sonics
    forever
but the mariners have only been a followable team since 95
and nobody really cared about the seahawks till like 2003.
but the sonics were a cornerstone

  4.

that actually kinda makes me feel better that they call us a football town.
i mean think of it this way, we do have the loudest fans in all of the NFL.
i am a seahawks season ticket holder, and if the seahawks left the way the sonics did, i don't know what i would do. don't get me wrong, i always loved the supes, but the seahawks are my number one priority in this town.

when the hawks go to the superbowl this year, we're all gonna forget the sonics even fucking existed. for those three weeks anyways. i'll see you at the party on 1st avenue.

well i guess we might be a football town now.
but that has only been true for like the past 3 or 4 years

  5.

oh i agree with that full heartedly.

  6.

the silver lining in all of this is now we can watch the blazers on fsn... who actually know how to put a team together and now with bayless sport the best young backcourt in the league

    Understatement:

the silver lining in all of this is now we can watch the blazers on fsn... who actually know how to put a team together and now with bayless sport the best young backcourt in the league

    spoken like a true non-fan.

    fuck that.
you say the sonics don't know how to put a team together?? did you see what they had shaping up? Sam Presty is a fucking magician! Just cause the last few years were struggles with mediocrity doesn't mean that was the entire 41 year franchise's summation.
    Downtown Freddy Brown
    Lenny Wilkens
    Jack Sikma
    Gary Payton
    Shawn Kemp
    Spencer Haywood
    Nate McMillian
    Rashard Lewis

the list goes on and freakin on my friend.

    LEGENDARY

FUCK the Blazers and FUCK the NBA. I will participate in neither, and there most certainly is NO silver fucking lining for any true Seattle sports fan.

Of the three major franchises, the Sonics, the Mariners and the Seahawks, the Sonics were the only team to win a championship. Now they are gone. I did read what Gregoire said, she called Key Arena "the Key Arena." Classic political disconnect. It's like Hillary Clinton calling YouTube "the You Tube." Let her jump on peoples' emotions like she cares, no one will listen. She looks like a goat. The worst thing about all of this is we have to let Kevin Durant go. He is going to be great, and we lost him. And the 45 million that came to us from Bennett for this settlement will go toward paying off debt for Key Arena, but after that, they'll probably put it into commuter rail funds for the I-5 corridor. Right now money has a way of going where it's needed in the immediate future. Getting another team here will dissipate into a rhetorical wind within three weeks and we won't hear any serious talk about this for three to five years. Fuck em all.

  8.

yeah but you gotta agree a little with understatement...brandon roy is on the blazers. its always fun watching a local play.

all in all, i am dissapointed too.

i guess you caught me, but i do think this is really idoitic of david stern. i was glad to see the sonics name and history is staying in seattle, hopefully they will be back within a decade

it wont be the same. i'll only embrace a new team if we get kevin durant back. oh... and ray allen. you can have effing jeff green boston

  10.

not all their history is staying in seattle. they will have a "shared-history" whatever the fuck that means.
basically, OKC will be hanging the 79 championship banner in their rafters with their fucking logo.

    can you believe that shit?

as far as the city's financial concerns go, i'm personally more worried about what will happen to Seattle Center and the hundreds of businesses surrounding it.
restaurants will be the first to die off, and i know exactly how thin the ice of each restaurant in the world is right now without losing 75% of their clientele. the shortsightedness of the city is unbelievable.

There's always the Superfonics...AD-Verse & Six Omega will never leave....I was to short to play basketball so I decided to be an MC...and yeah I know Mugsy was an inch shorter than I am but truth be told even if I was tall I'd still suck at basketball.

Its utter bullshit that tha Sonics left Seattle. The Mariners , Seahawks and Sonics are all teams that belong in only one place western Washington. It juss doesn't fit. Thats why the team is now being called The Oklahoma City Thunder. I juss hope that my second favorite team the Clippers (who are lookin for a new home) move to tha T Dome. Than all my dreams will come true. The Sonics have made alot of mistakes as of late and we all know that. They give up GP then they give up the guy they gave GP up for. Wheres the logic whats the basis? Pure stupidity on the part of the sonics. To many franchises go into rebuiling stages which in some senses and not nessicary. Its ridiculous you gotta stay with those that are loyal. Clearly the Sonics aint give a damn.
