    This has been buzzing around in my head for the last few days. Artist mentioning products in their lyrics do you think this is mostly done because of a deal has been made with someone above them? One example I have is

    Nelly - Airforce ones

    Do you think someone at Nike approached someone affiliated with nelly to craft this song as just an advertising tool for Nike?

    Are Nikes really that dope or has nike done an amazing job marketing to hiphop?

    it probably led to getting an endorsement deal but shit.. I write songs with products in them cuz I use em.. and if endorsement comes, I'll embrace it.. I mention Dickies all the time, not that I want money to say it, but because I wear them.
