    Tacoma City Manager Eric Anderson wants to reduce crime in the city by 50 percent in 14 months. Approximately 250 city employees from a cross-section of departments met for two days this week at Tacoma’s convention center to discuss how the city might reach the target, a goal that surprised some City Council members for its sheer ambition.

    What does that mean, well it means expect to be harassed for jaywalking, I have about 5 friends who have already been given a $56 ticket for walking right before the light said walk (the officer says). Don't be surprised if there are more patrols I've already seen a increase of police on 6th ave and Tacoma ave.

    Anyways be smart because the city is amping up to fight crime...

    Be smart or be paranoid? Fuck a police state. It's just another politician using his power to please the city council. First of all, to cut crime that much would eliminate the need for well, 50% of the police force, security guards, and hell why not the justice system including judges and any one else involved in the processing of criminals.

    See, when fucks say things like this it makes me wonder what their true intentions are. To "crack down" or to enforce some sort of mini-martial law and get away with it. To even think that crime is still that bad in Tacoma is backward thinking, defeatist crap. It's just another practice in politricks trying to use fear and recent history to stir uneasiness in the city, thereby making him invaluable.

    Or maybe it's a genuine guy who wants to make the world a better place. HAHAHAHAHA.

    I've never liked Eric Anderson... I was working for the City doing garbage, and HE decided that there was too much labor in that department and I was layed off, as well as about 12 other guys. - He is not a cool person.

    Yeah! just slather tacoma in some mayonaise and take away all of the flavor. acres of multi-colored condo towers, yum!

    I think Tacoma's crime today compared to just 10 years ago is something the city should be proud enough of. The revitalization of our city has been amazing but I think certain people are beginning to go too far. I got an idea to cut crime by 50%....let's push all of the poor people up to mckinley hill and south of 72nd...then we can build a wall and contain our city from the "bad" people. we can just give away those sections of the city, I'm sure lakewood and Puyallup would be stoked.

    oh, but we'd have to start checkpoints to get in and out so that all the douches from out of town can't thug it out at cans anymore.

    you can't get this dope without a prescription.

    i heard that back in the 80s (who knows, maybe still) TPD would pick up hookers and just drop them off on Ponders and shit. talk about progress!
