While I was in Seattle for a bit there were some pretty cool after hour clubs that people in the know would go to, one place I thought was hilarious was this place that was in pioneer square called "ikandy". Basically it was a loft that was converted and they had some big ass dudes out front and if you knew someone you basically could get in.. it wasn't really that tight though because there was like a 30/1 ratio of dudes to ladies and everyone was really smashed by 4am.
Does Tacoma have any place like this downtown? I heard that this new place called Maxwells has a hidden cigar lounge with one sided glass so you can see down into the restaurant but people in the restaurant can't see you.
There is also this other bar in Seattle that does no advertising and doesn't even have a sign so to go there you have to sorta have gone with a friend before :P
Hiphop has a inner circle.there's an art gallery on MLK way that sometimes functions as a sort of after hours thing. The name escapes me, but I know a lot of the kitty cats on here went to it with me...maybe they can help me out.
It's all about calling it something other than a venue. If the city recognizes it as something other than a club/venue/bar you're not held to the same restrictions (i.e. 2 o'clock bar time, etc. etc.) and if you're shiesty enough about it and invite the right people, you can serve liquor.
A friend of mine just went to this rave at a "church" in Seattle. from the stories, I gather it's got nothing to do with religion. or maybe everything.
www.myspace.com/kupshiphopFulcrum? Olivers spot? ha I really need to check that place out, Oliver is a good guy pretty fresh on the tables too
Hiphop has a inner circle.all i know is i wanna hit up that cigar room yo. who's down and how do i find it?
mcmonster the devastatorThere used to be some spots in Fife and the Eastside that did after-hours clubs and parties, but ya know how the holice are around here. So they shut down those joints quick fast. Not to mention Hilltop used to have houses that people turned into underground spots. This is like 1970's and 1980's though. Maybe a few lasted until the early 1990's.
